Princess of Mars, The Silent Observer and The Creative

I like music that makes me feel like I’m in a video game—basically vaporwave, synth, and ambient types of music. Sometimes the algorithm blesses me with great and unique ambient albums. This time around, it was Princess of Mars by Tim Stebbing.

Princess of Mars is a synth ambient album that makes you feel like you’re out in outer space and stumble upon a shimmering kingdom in the lowlands of Mars. That’s how I felt while I was playing Candy Crush—I’m that type of mom now.

After listening to the album, I looked up Tim Stebbing to hear more of his discography. On his Bandcamp page, it says that he’s been making music since 1979—spending close to 50 years creating. To do that, you must love what you create.

I’ve been thinking about stopping drawing and writing on and off for… I honestly forget how long. I enjoy writing and drawing (for the most part), and people have enjoyed my work, but the thought of not being a bit bigger makes me feel like I’m not good enough. I know—the whole “artists become big after they die” idea is somewhat true—but they probably loved their craft and kept going.

There are many artists, writers, musicians, etc., who enjoy what they do and don’t care if they make it big. They don’t mind people quietly observing their work. Inspiring others is their success.
