ABOUT THE ARTIST
Angelica Kempa is an artist and illustrator based in Long Island and New York City. Her work features strong inked lines, bright colors, and surreal yet cute subjects (sometimes with horror themes). She draws inspiration from her mother’s garden, the 2000s Queens alternative scene, the many comics and manga she has read, Harajuku fashion, The Simpsons, her dreams, urban legends, and the countless video games she has played. Her art is designed to capture attention and make viewers pause in their tracks.
Angelica’s artwork has been displayed at Guild Hall of East Hampton, Mills Pond Gallery, North Bellmore Library, and Long Island Aquarium. She has also held private gallery events with other artists and created tattoo designs and stickers featuring her work.
Outside of her artwork, she is a mother and wife. She enjoys journaling, putting together outfits, cooking, exploring vitamins and wellness, reading, playing video games (especially Animal Crossing), and writing. She also runs a side blog where she shares scenes from her everyday life.
